Having attended various events and tournaments, I have had the pleasure of meeting not only the dedicated male and female athletes but also their families. The support demonstrated by the PigDogs for their fellow athletes creates a sense of one family.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Support-R event, organized by the PigDogs in support of the Woodlawn family of schools. I'm writing to express my support for the Dartmouth PigDogs, and to share my experiences as to why I endorse and wholeheartedly support the expansion of this organization.

As a young man, unsure of my place in the world and struggling to find somewhere to fit in, the PigDogs became a second home to me during high school, which arguably is one of the most trying times in today's age for a young man. The club and its members have always been eager to include younger players and make them feel like they have somewhere they can feel at home and safe, while still enjoying the amazing things the sport of rugby has to offer.

The club works eagerly to ensure all high school athletes can have the opportunity to reach their potential in the sport, which is something that does not seem to be as common today as once before. The PigDogs are a staple in the Dartmouth community for this reason. As a rugby player for the club and a sponsor with my local small business, I can't express enough the sense of pride I have in being able to be involved with this organization and the values they bring to members of the community. The club is regularly involved in giving back to Dartmouth, with regular fundraisers, volunteering, and overall wellness of the community.

It is my greatest recommendation that those who have the power to help further the impact this club can have on Dartmouth make decisions to help the club grow and prosper to the point of being able to change the lives of young athletes and their families/community for further generations to come.

I write on behalf of the Dartmouth Pigdogs Rugby Club. I am currently a major sponsor as well as alumni. I played for 12 years after high school. This club was a very important part of my life and still is something I believe made me a much better person.

The Dartmouth Pigdogs have consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Through their dedication to the sport of rugby, the club has not only provided an avenue for athletic expression but has also become a unifying force within our community. There is no ridicule. There is support and friendships. We have gay players and had players transition during their time there. It’s an environment that teaches everyone that people are people.

Their commitment to sportsmanship, community engagement, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle makes them an invaluable asset to Dartmouth. We would welcome support.
