The Davin Moxsom Rugby Scholarship is awarded to a Dartmouth High School rugby team member who best represents the qualities that Davin Moxsom brought to the sport of rugby in Nova Scotia.
Davin valued the connections and friendships he made within the rugby community. He is described by all who knew him as a selfless, kind, and generous person who valued teamwork, integrity, and respect both on and off the field.
This scholarship recognizes a student-athlete who demonstrates those same personal qualities, along with meaningful involvement in the sport of rugby.

Eligibility, Selection, and Application
The scholarship is intended for a Dartmouth High School rugby player who reflects Davin’s values and is continuing on to post-secondary study.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Grade 12 student enrolled at Dartmouth High School
- Must be a member of one of the Dartmouth High School rugby teams
- Must be planning to attend a post-secondary university or community college
Selection Criteria
- Community involvement
- Academic standing
- Dedication to the sport of rugby in Nova Scotia
- Financial need
Selection Process
Eligible applicants are reviewed by a committee made up of at least five people: one Dartmouth High School rugby coach, two members of Davin Moxsom’s family, and two additional members.
The Community Foundation of Nova Scotia provides an oversight role to help ensure the eligibility and selection criteria are met.
Application Requirements
- A list of community involvement and leadership activities
- A 500-word essay expanding on one community involvement experience
- Most recent academic transcript
- Proof of registration at a post-secondary institution
- An explanation of financial need
Award Frequency and Presentation
Typically, scholarships are awarded annually. However, the donor reserves the right to award scholarships on a more or less frequent basis depending on income levels and Community Foundation of Nova Scotia requirements.
The award is presented to the successful recipient by the family of Davin Moxsom at the Dartmouth High School graduation ceremony.

The Community Foundation of Nova Scotia provides oversight support for the scholarship process and helps ensure the eligibility and selection criteria are properly followed.
