Davin Moxsom

Yesterday, our family lost a piece of its heart, and the entire rugby community lost a passionate, boisterous and loving voice.

Our brother, Davin, was a true ambassador of rugby who embodied the spirit of the sport in every word that he spoke.

Our love goes out to his family and everyone else who had the privilege of his presence.

Please take a moment today to reminisce your favourite memory of Davin, and be sure to raise a glass in his honour. We will share more information when we have it.

Teaglach.

We have a lot of exciting things planned for the 2015 season, but need your help make this our best year yet! We are currently seeking volunteers for the following:

Event Committee

Assist with our annual events (PigDog Sevens tournament, club day, & awards banquet). We need volunteers to help with planning, set up/tear down, BBQ station, beer tent, social media promotion, photography, 50/50 ticket sales, registration table, first aid attendants). Time commitment will vary, but usually a couple hours on the day of plus any advance prep.

Mini Program Coaches:

We would like to have 6 dedicated coaches to run the toddler, U6, U12 divisions (2 coaches per division). Commitment will be 1-2 hours per week, which includes coaching the weekly sessions from mid June to late August (likely Wednesday evening or Saturday mornings) plus advance planning to prepare for each week’s session. Rugby NS runs a one day mini clinic each year to provide coaching tips for the mini programs; we encourage our mini coaches to attend.

If you are interested in helping on occasion, but cannot commit to the full season, please let us know, extra helpers are always welcome.

2015 AGM - January 18th, 2015

Hello everyone,

A reminder that the 2015 Annual General Meeting is scheduled for this coming Sunday, January 18th, at 6pm at Dave Doolittle’s. During the AGM we will be electing the 2015 executive, including Club President, Vice Presidents (Men’s and Women’s), Treasurer, and Social Director.

All senior and social members in good standing are eligible to cast their vote during the AGM. If you are unable to attend, you can assign your vote to a proxy (another member to vote on your behalf).

In order to assign a proxy, you must email pigdogsrfc@gmail.com by midnight on Saturday, January 17th, with your name and the name of the member who will be voting on your behalf. A member can only hold one proxy vote in addition to their own.

Please keep in mind that if you assign your proxy vote to someone who accepts a nomination, they will not be voting for that position (so you may want to ask someone who is not intending on running to ensure your vote is counted).

If you are unable to attend, but would like to express intention of running for a position, please advise the club as per the process and deadline to confirm the role and that you would accept if nominated.

I strongly encourage everyone to exercise their opportunity to vote, as it shapes the direction of the club’s future. If you have any questions, please contact myself or any of the current executives, we would be happy to answer them.

See you on Sunday!
